Monday Melee; Personal Musings
1. The Misanthtropic: (something about humanity you absolutely hate)
Cruelty. I hate when people are cruel. I hate when the subject of the cruelty doesn’t understand that no one can hurt their feelings without their permission. It took me a long time to learn that.
2. The Meretricious: (Expose something/someone phony, fraudulent or bogus)
The diet industry. Appetite suppressants only trigger ghrelin production, which slows our metabolism and makes it harder to lose weight. The “trick” to losing weight doesn’t come in a bottle. It comes from understanding our bodies.
3. The Malcontent: (Something you’re unhappy with)
It makes me unhappy to know that less than 10% of the developed world’s military budget would feed and immunize all the sick and hungry children in the world.
4. The Meritorious: (Give someone credit – name it if you can)
My daughter. Because everything I had to learn to be a better parent made me a better person. Especially during the single mom years. Sometimes doing “right” for another person also does right for us.
5. The Mirror: (See something good about yourself and name it)
I like the laughter in my eyes. It had disappeared for so long. I like having it back.
6. The Make-Believe: (Name something you wish for)
I would like to finish the books I am writing, and have them sell so well that I could build a children’s library in Haiti. I think I would weep with joy if I could accomplish that in this lifetime.
Your turn…. if you’re reading this, why not join The Monday Melee, too? It’s here…

I am very Malcontent about the worlds military budget… it’s so sad. I am reading this book now called “Stolen Voices” which is a book of childrens/teens journals from World War I until Iraq War. The book really does put you in their world and makes you feel so lucky to have been born into the life you have.
On another note… you are writing a book? Are you secretive about it? Could you indulge as to what it’s about? ;p

Hi again, good to see you! I used to be secretive about the book I’m writing, but now I’m thinking if I start talking about it, maybe that will push me to finish it. lol.
Nine years ago, I remember crying myself to sleep too many times because I was a broke, newly divorced single mom and I owed my lawyer $37,000.00 or something like that. Today, I’ve been featured in newspapers and even in a book that was featured in Oprah’s book club. (about women entrepreneurs). So I’m writing a book to help other women, whether they need to create full time income or just supplement their household income.
There are SO many scams online, that I wanted to be able to do more than complain about scams. lol. I wanted to be able to put out good information, too.
In writing, I discovered that I’m a horrible perfectionist and I keep editing over and over. So I’m thinking maybe I’ll self publish first to get feedback, and then submit to a publisher after I’ve gotten feedback on the first round. I had a publisher in New York express interest, so I’m hoping that if I self publish, drum up some interest and then submit to a publisher I might do okay. *crosses fingers*

Wow, what a great idea! Not only that but your accomplishments thus far are very admirable. I know what you mean about scams online, I have just about giving up on “trying” to make money online… now I just use online for my own fun purposes. I really hope you get this published, it sounds like you could really help out a lot of people and it would be really interesting to read.

: ) Thank you both!
Now all I need is for you to ask me “How’s the book coming?” a couple of times a week. Then I’ll finish it just so I can say I did. LOL.

I think I can handle that, ha!
